Two Teeth!

Tired but happy.
So we've got two teeth now...and we bite on EVERYTHING. Mom's arm, the table, the chair, the shopping cart, clothes, blankets, toothbrushes, spoons, books, backpacks, any handle for anything at eye level, paper, baby hands and fingers, any strap on anything. I thought it was only appropriate that the athletic trainer for Brad, Jen, gave Garrett a new football mouth guard. This pic was taken a few weeks ago so those teeth are even more prominent. Stinkin' little razor blades. He tried to naw my leg off yesterday. Ouch!

What does this Face Say to You?

Late Night Giggles

So Garrett had the giggles last night and we just caught it on tape ;o) He gets so tired that he becomes "slap happy," if ya know what I mean.

Distracted First Lemon

We went to Chipotle for dinner three days ago and were enjoying our dinner when we realized...Garrett needed to be tortured. We gave him his first lemon.

Our Hot Cocoa Nut

Garrett really enjoyed his first time camping and especially his first warm cocoa.

Psycho Billy Goat in His Natural Habitat

Brad, Garrett and I went camping in Rocky Mountain National Park a few weeks ago. It was Garrett's first time. And He Loved It! What's not to love? Dirt every where!... In your shoes, hair, bed and in your food too! And it's okay, that's how it's supposed to be when you camp! We went on some little hikes and saw some beautiful sights. I think we most enjoyed just being together. Brad had been gone all summer for an internship and had just gotten home. Spending a few days as a family without distractions was needed.
One night I fixed Brad a burger, left it on the table and went to feed Garrett. I was only like 3 feet away but that didn't scare the birds. One was daring enough to jump on the burger and eat it! I scared it off but it kept hoovering. Brad came over and tried to chuck a rock close to it to scare the bird. I hate to say it but I laughed when he hit it. He laughed too but we both felt bad for the bird. We are totally animal lovers...but it still makes me laugh a little as I remember the look on Brad's face.

Our last night there we had what seemed like a mini hurricane! It was so windy and rainy. At one point during the night our tent looked like it was about to fold inward on us! It was pretty nippy and really loud so I continually checked on Garrett to make sure he was warm and covered up. He didn't wake up once. I didn't sleep a wink.

We brought the pack'n'play for the baby to hang out in while we set-up, cooked and cleaned. He didn't mind at all staying in there so long as he could see us, hear us and everything else. We had him doubled clothed and beanie-ed, with toys and a view. Garrett loved camping. It's funny that I worried so much about him- being fed, safe, warm, sleeping...and yet he had no troubles at all and loved every minute. Me on the other hand...I was exhausted!

The No Longer Priceless Family Trip

Brad, Garrett and I met Brad's family up in Coeur d'alene, Idaho to visit Brad's Grandparents -- that's a lot of Price's! We had Gpa Ted and Gma Tracy with their kids: Uncles Ben and Josh and Aunt Jennah, then Great Grandparents Ralph and Dorina. It was great to be with family and in such a gorgeous place!

We went to Coeur d'alene Beach and had fun watching....more like making, Garrett squish his toes in the sand and play in the water. (You'll see his love of water through this blog. It's not very much.)

I really enjoyed seeing where Brad spent his early childhood years. This is one of the most beautiful parts of the country I've been too. I think Brad really enjoyed it too. He took us to his old house, neighborhood, schools and the hang outs of his youth. The beach above is actually at a park. The beach was perfect and the park was really neat too. It was very lush and beautiful. Trees just don't seem to get that huge over here in Colorado...our dinky aspens don't compare. Brad's dad helped, with members of the community, to actually build that playground. It was neat! Those who volunteered had their names engraved on a wooden slate that was apart of the playground. Brad, Garrett and I walked all over to find the one that represented the Price Family: Aleah Lynn Price, as it is labeled in honor of a beloved sister. Brad really enjoyed sharing this part of himself with me I think. A little trip to past to share it with someone you love can be healing.

Grandma Tracy and Garrett. I think Garrett is happier here than in the pictures below because he's with Grandma Tracy and Dry. Come to think of it I bet Grandma Tracy is happiest when she's with Garrett and dry too ;o) Garrett didn't seem to appreciate the water.

Garrett and Aunt Jennah were attached at the hip majority of the time. Jennah was such a big help with him and I think she even enjoyed it. Jennah and Garrett played in the water for the first time and Garrett didn't quite know what to think. We only got his feet wet but I think that was enough for him. He may not be a water baby like his daddy but rather a mountain lover like his mom.

These GREAT grandparents really are great! It was mine and Garrett's first time meeting them and it was sure a treat! We had so much fun with them! Great Grandma Price is such an incredibly bubbly person. She is one who just over flows with joy and love! Oh and she LOVES to laugh! Great Grandpa I'm sure will have a blast teaching Garrett how to hook a pike some day- in fact I bet they do it before Uncle Ben can. ;o) Great Grandpa has a great love for fishing and it seems to be contagious to all the grandkids; Garrett will be no exception. Ralph and Dorina are so fun and have great senses of humor- which they said was the key to having been married for so long.

Garrett looks so happy! (I think he knew we were on our way out the door to the airport) We've got four generations in this picture! Ralph and Dorina are Ted's parents and Ted and Tracy are Brad's parents, then Brad and Garrett. These are two sets of wonderful grandparents! We so enjoyed our time with these guys and we felt so loved while we were with them. This is a group of people who truly know how to serve others and love their family. We're so blessed to have people like them in our lives. We hope we get to see these guys some time soon!

So I'd been meaning to post a bunch of stories that go with these pictures but it's been so long that I really don't remember all the details.

For starters, here are Garrett's Avat@r feet! We made Grandma Tracy an apron with Garrett's hands and feet on it! It turned out pretty cute. We did this for Mother's Day.
It took some scrubbin' to get Garrett's feet to not be "Avat@r Blue" but I think he really enjoyed it.

Our Psycho Billy Goat

Garrett Bradley Price. Our Pride and Joy.

The Light Of Our Lives.

Our Food Processor Without A Lid.
Have you ever starter your food processor or blender without the lid on it? A blast of liquid flies throughout the kitchen leaving spots that you'll be finding at random for the next four months, right? Not only does his food find it's way into the cracks and crevasses of the kitchen but also his body. He'll have had a bath, I'll think he's clean and then I find bits of a biter biscuit from three days ago in an armpit, an ear, or other various places. He wants to eat whatever anyone else is eating. He hates anything green but I have to be sneaky and I make him eat it anyway. He loves yogurt, whipped cream and ice cream; He is my child.
Our little monster.
He finds his way into everything and he can't even walk. He has a walker and BOY can that kid book it! The pantry door, fridge door, all cabinets and trash can lid must all be closed and on lock down the entire time he's strolling around in his walker. He army crawls, rolls or pulls himself to get to anything he wants. Don't turn your back on him even for a second cuz by the time you turn around he won't be where you left him. And by the time you find him he'll have gummed, torn, and tried to eat whatever he found along his way.

Our Giggle Box.
He loves to laugh. He laughs the most at daddy. Anything Brad does is the funniest thing in the world to Garrett. Garrett is easy to smile and laugh. He has a great sense of humor.

Our Chatter Box!
He never shuts up! This kid is constantly talking! Cooing, jabbering, complaining, laughing- to you, to him , to anyone who will listen or not listen! He'll talk himself to sleep sometimes. Flip! He's talked ME to sleep sometimes! He just has so much to say! Or so he thinks. Further proof ...He is my child.

Our Tetonka.
That's Native American for Baby Buffalo. And yes he is. At church yesterday while changing Garrett's diaper I met a mom who was nursing her one year old- he probably came up to Garrett's shoulders...maybe. Then another mom who's baby is four months younger than Garrett who probably comes up to his ribs and just now weighs 10 pounds. Then I spoke with another mother who was holding her three week old. "How old is your newborn?" I ask. "Three weeks. He's seven pounds now! Hard to believe he was ever this small, huh?" referencing to Garrett. "Yeah, it is hard to believe he was ever that small. Especially since he was almost 11 pounds when he was born. I never saw him that small." Garrett is huge compared to almost every child I've held him up against. He weighs 20 pounds and is 30 inches long.

Our Sweet Baby.
Everyone says that he is just a such a good baby. He has such a sweetness about him. He only complains if he's tired, hungry or needs a diaper change. We recognize how blessed we are to have a child who does not cry for no apparent reason, or just because he wants his mom or dad.

Our Energy Sucker!
See that face? That's the face you get when he's about to take off and do something you don't want him to! I can't keep up with him now! I'm gonna pass out when he's actually walking! All bets are on that he'll skip walking and go straight to running! He tuckers me out... Oh man.

Our shooshy baby, our bubby, our buddy, our plumpkin, our bugaboo, our bucket o' fuss, our pooper, our puker, our silly goose, our monkey butt, our psycho billy goat, our first, our baby, our boy, Our Joy.

Our Alarm Clock... that goes off at all random hours of the night. He's coos, laughs and complains in his sleep. He thinks he needs a midnight snack otherwise he'll starve. And rightly so, can't you just see how he's wasting away.

Garrett Bradley Price; our one and only.
We kinda like him a little.
He just turned 7 months old. Goodness how time has flown by.

How the Price that thinks he's right became My Husband.

"The Price is Right" title was inspired by something my husband said around the time we first met. In reference to himself of course. At the time I didn't even think it was cute or cunning. "Arrogant" was actually closer to my opinion of him and everything he said. The summer of 2007 we were both serving as full-time missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in New Jersey. Within our first few days of knowing each other I walked into a situation in which Elder PRICE appeared to be consumed with his own interests... and me, a meek and humble 23 yr old, called him out on his crap. I expressed myself like a bull in a china shop wearing a knee length skirt and black name tag. I was passionate about missionary work and doing it for the right reasons. He'll tell you that in his mind he agreed with everything I said about "those kind of people", but thought that he was not one of them. Throughout the remainder of our missions we learned more about each other and with that respect and admiration grew.
Fast forward: April 2008 I left my mission to join my family in a place I'd never lived; Boise, Idaho. Three months later Elder Brad Price returns to his home town, a place he refers to as the Promised Land; Boise, Idaho. Three weeks later we find ourselves hanging out for the 4th time. Our siblings hit it off well so we all decided to go to the premiere of the new Batman movie. July 18th. Half way through the movie Elder Price- as I still referred to him, held out his hand for me to hold. I was shocked! I didn't even know he liked me! I shocked myself further by grabbing it! Holy Moly! I hadn't even flirted with a boy in two years! And what the heck was HE thinking! He'd just gotten off the plane! Freak!
People from our mission said "We had no idea about Price and Johnson!" and we responded "Yeah, neither did we!"

Before leaving for his mission Brad planned on attending the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado to major in chemical engineering. The week he moved to school was the week after my family had a job change...taking us back to Colorado Springs, Colorado, my home town.
December 18th, 2008 Brad and I were married.
December 2nd 2009 we welcomed our first child, Garrett Bradley Price. Oh the stories I have to tell regarding that!
Actually you could just read in on my mom's blog- she's a better writer than I. www.momza.blogspot.com
Anywho, I'm not anything special. I'm just telling my story...and now you know how it became Our story. While this Price is not always right my life does feel like a game show. Stick around and find out "What's behind doooooooooor number TWO!!!"
