Garrett's words

Every time we get into the car:
Garrett: Yay! Zoo! Going to zoo! Yay! Thanks Mom!
Me: No, Garrett, we're not going to the zoo today. Sorry buddy, we have to _______.

After a few days of this I felt guilty and really did consider going to the zoo but we've always had other things to do so the conversation changed to:
Garrett: Yay! Zoo! Going to zoo! Thanks mom!
Me: Sorry Garrett, maybe tomorrow.

Later that day:
Me: Garrett will you help pick up your toys?
Garrett: Sorry Mom, maybe tomorrow.

This morning:
Garrett: Mom, bread? Please? (he signs please)
Me: Sure. (I hand him a piece of bread. He takes it AND the rest of the loaf and puts the loaf away in the cabinet where it belongs)
Me: Thanks Garrett! I love you!
Garrett: Welcome Mom! I love bread!

Zoo with Two.

"AHHHH! WE'RE AT THE ZOO!!!!!! I'M SO EXCITED!"

That's our squirrel bait climbin' on a hippo at the zoo.

Garrett loved playing on the hippos with the other kids at the zoo and thought one little boy was hysterical, he had him laughing pretty hard.

This is one of Garrett's current favorite animals, we have 3 plastic dollar store ones at home that he is constantly carrying around.

Isaac and Garrett both behaved really well while they were there at the Zoo with me.

Isaac is six months old now and has the best smile!

And this right here is Bert. He's 35, territorial and loves apples. He's also the reason we had to attend the zoo.

We were there for hippo snack time and Garrett LOVED watching the zoo keeper toss apples into Berts mouth. He wanted to spend all day with the hippos. ALL Day. Thanks Bert, it was a fun 6 hours.

Another Free day at a Museum!

I know this looks similar to the last Free day at a museum, but this is the Denver Art Museum!

This is when I enjoyed Garrett and Isaac the most!

This was Garrett's favorite exhibit, a whole dining hall painted completely red with gray foxes running a muck!

This is one of my favorite paintings in the museum! I wish we'd taken more pictures but we had two psychotic babies and 10 floors of art...during a nap time. Let's be honest here, had I not taken the pictures I would not even remember we'd gone!

SHARP TOOTH!

"Sharp tooth, T-rex, Lanbeforetime, RAHHHHH!" Say it fast and build from a whisper to a yell. Now you know what I heard all day at the Denver Nature and Science Museum!

Garrett LOVES dinosuars! He takes after his uncle Josh with this fascination. So when we found out that the museum admission was waved one day this month we had to go!

I love Garrett's hair in this one, it was combed and wet and he put his hood on. He won't go outside unless he has his hood on these days, it's like he's afraid to be cold.

DUCKY!

Garrett did really well and loved the dinosaur and animal parts of the museum but had no patience for the other areas. Sneaking Goldfish crackers to him while in the bath room made him more tolerable. Isaac was fighting a nap so he was kind of a nut until he passed out in the "Rare birds" area...understandable, eh?

If you'll notice, Garrett's not looking at me in even one picture, his eyes were darting all over the place. So much to see! Hopefully we'll go back again before we move. Garrett is as big as a T-rex foot and Isaac...well this was pre-nap.

Self-serve

Isaac hates baby food. He hates formula. He hates finger foods and mushy food. He only likes to be nursed. That's it, nothing else never. Our pediatrician suggested letting him feed himself. So one busy afternoon I let him. Prunes. I just put the whole jar on his tray. Looks like he had about as much success getting it in his mouth as I did. At least he still looks happy though!

A wrestler in the making

Proud papa wearing a wrestling shirt while his second born dons a singlet in his school colors.
Thanks Grandma Tracy for sending this to Garrett, who then passed it on to Isaac.

He's ready! Just get 'em out on the mat and he'll take down uncle Ben and make him cry!
